WHAT IS IT

What is YouTube advertising?

YouTube is the world’s largest video platform. In Estonia it is watched by 600,000+ people every day. It is the second-largest search engine after Google and the most powerful visual brand platform on the Estonian market. YouTube advertising gives you the opportunity to reach your audience at the very moment when they are most attentive — when they are watching video.

YouTube advertising works through Google Ads — the same platform as regular Search and Display ads. This means we can use the same measurability, the same targeting, the same budget management as in other campaigns. You don’t need to grow YouTube channel followers to advertise — you can start right away.

YouTube has several advertising formats: TrueView in-stream (video that can be skipped after 5 seconds; you pay only for views); Bumper Ads (6-second non-skippable clips, excellent for brand awareness); Non-skippable in-stream (15–30 sec video that cannot be skipped, suitable for full brand message delivery); Discovery / In-feed ads (ads in search results and related videos list, higher intent); and Performance Max, which combines YouTube with Search, Display, Shopping and Gmail channels into one AI-driven campaign.

What we do with YouTube advertising: video review and optimization (if you have it) or partner recommendations (if not), audience segmentation, campaign structure creation according to goal (awareness, views, conversions), bidding strategy (CPV, CPM, Target CPA, Maximize Conversions), A/B tests across video versions and audiences, daily optimization, budget management, and detailed reporting — view rate, CPV, view-through conversions and brand lift.

Result: brand awareness that constantly grows, and conversions from people emotionally attached to your brand. YouTube is not a direct-sales channel like Search — but long-term it delivers what no other channel can.

FORMATS

What are the YouTube advertising formats?

Four main formats — each with its own goal, length and pricing. We choose the combination based on your campaign goals.

  • TrueView in-stream

    Length
    15 sec – 3 min
    Pricing
    CPV (cost per view)
    Type
    Skippable after 5 sec
    Suitable for
    Conversions and brand awareness

The most popular YouTube format. You pay only when someone watches 30+ seconds or the entire video (if shorter). Flexible, measurable, affordable — fits most campaigns from day one.

  • Bumper Ads

    Length
    6 seconds
    Pricing
    CPM
    Type
    Non-skippable
    Suitable for
    Brand awareness, reach

6-second non-skippable clips. Short, fast brand recall. Excellent for building brand awareness at scale — cheap CPM and guaranteed full-message viewing.

  • Non-skippable in-stream

    Length
    15–30 sec
    Pricing
    CPM
    Type
    Non-skippable
    Suitable for
    Full brand message delivery

User sees the entire video from start to finish. Suitable for storytelling and complex brand messages where every second matters. Higher CPM than TrueView, but full viewing.

  • Discovery / In-feed

    Length
    Up to 3 min
    Pricing
    CPC
    Type
    Clickable thumbnail
    Suitable for
    Actively interested audience

Ad appears in YouTube search results and the related videos list. User actively clicks your video — higher intent, higher conversion rate. Suitable when the audience must find you.

WHY

Why YouTube advertising matters

Four numbers that explain why YouTube belongs in any professional digital marketing strategy in Estonia.

  • 600,000+

    Daily viewers in Estonia

YouTube is the largest video platform in Estonia and the second-largest search engine after Google itself. Your audience is there every day — the only question is whether you reach them before competitors do.

  • 95%

    Video memorability

People remember 95% of video, compared with 10% of text. Video builds brand awareness and emotional connection faster than any other channel — especially when the first 5 seconds are strong.

  • €0.02–0.05

    CPV on the Estonian market

TrueView CPV (cost per view) in Estonia is typically €0.02–0.05. €100 budget brings 2,000–5,000 views. This is practically the cheapest way to grow brand awareness in a digital channel.

  • Targeting precision

We can reach by interests (car enthusiasts, young moms, fitness enthusiasts), demographics, behavior and context (which video they watched). Language targeting also works in Estonia — separately for Estonian and Russian-speaking audiences.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

What is included in the YouTube service?

Eight concrete work streams — from strategy and video review to A/B tests and the monthly report.

  • Strategy and audience

Defining who your YouTube audience is, which video format fits the goal (TrueView, Bumper, Discovery), the optimal budget, and the success metric (views, conversions or brand lift).

  • Video assets review

If you already have a video — we check whether it fits advertising. We assess length, message, and especially the first 5 seconds (if they do not grab attention, the user skips). Recommendations on what to change or how to adapt.

  • Campaign structure

Building campaigns by goal — awareness, views, traffic, conversions or sales. Each goal needs its own structure and bidding strategy.

  • Targeting and segments

Setting up precise audiences: in-market audiences, affinity audiences, demographics, custom intent, video remarketing. Each segment gets its own message and video version.

  • Bidding strategy

Picking the optimal bidding strategy: CPV (per view), CPM (per impression), Target CPA (conversions), Maximize Conversions (e-commerce), Target ROAS.

  • A/B tests

Testing different video versions (shorter vs longer, different headline, different first 5 seconds), audiences, formats. Minimum one active experiment per week.

  • Conversion tracking

Measuring view rate (% of people who watch the whole video), CPV, view-through conversions (user sees the ad, does not click, but buys later within 30 days) and brand lift.

  • Monthly report

Detailed report: views, audiences, formats, ROI, view-through. Clearly, without jargon, with next-month strategy recommendations and a strategic call.

WHO IT IS FOR

Who needs YouTube advertising?

Four typical situations where YouTube advertising delivers clearly measurable brand and sales value.

  • 01

    Brands that want visibility

If your goal is for people to know your brand, YouTube is the most effective channel. A €500–1,000/month budget creates significant brand awareness in 3–6 months — especially combined with Display and Search.

  • 02

    Products requiring explanation

Complex products — technology, financial services, SaaS, premium goods — sell significantly better with video. You can visually explain product value in 30 seconds, which text would manage at best in a multi-minute article.

  • 03

    E-commerce for brand awareness

For online stores YouTube is a classic "top of funnel" channel — it brings new people into brand contact. Remarketing (Display, Search Shopping) converts them later. Without YouTube-style introductions, new customers only arrive organically.

  • 04

Launch of new product or service

YouTube is in practice the strongest channel for a new product launch. Visual demo + emotion + precise targeting = fast awareness building in a couple of weeks. Especially strong when combining bumper ads + TrueView in-stream.

    Strategy

    2–3 business days

Defining audiences, formats, budget, metrics and success criteria. Planning the campaign structure and bidding approach.

  2. 02

    Video review or recommendations

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own video for YouTube advertising?

Yes. YouTube ads are video-based by definition, so we need video assets. If you do not have a video, we recommend a partner — a videographer specializing in advertising videos (not wedding videos). Video production is not included in our service, but we help find the right partner and write the brief.

How long should the advertising video be?

Depends on format. TrueView in-stream: 15–90 sec (best 30–60 sec). Bumper Ads: exactly 6 sec (strictly). Non-skippable in-stream: 15–30 sec. Discovery: up to 3 min, but better 30–60 sec. Usually we recommend ordering multiple lengths at once (15 + 30 + 60 sec) so we can test different formats from the same source material.

How much does YouTube advertising cost?

In Estonia CPV (cost per view) in TrueView is typically €0.02–0.05. A €500/month budget brings 10,000–25,000 views. Bumper Ads CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) — €3–8. Minimum recommended budget is €300–500/month to gather enough data for optimization. For brand campaigns we recommend €800–1,500/month.

How is YouTube advertising success measured?

Several complementary metrics. View Rate (% who watch the whole video) is the base indicator. CPV (cost per view) shows efficiency. View-through conversions (user sees ad, does not click, but buys later within a 30-day window) — that is the real sales metric of YouTube. Brand Lift measures the actual change in brand awareness through Google’s official survey.

Can I reach only Estonian viewers?

Yes. We can set geo-targeting within Estonia — the entire country or specific regions (Harjumaa, Tartumaa, Pärnumaa, etc.). We can target only Estonian-speaking viewers by language, or include Russian/English speakers in Estonia (separate campaigns with different-language videos). We can also exclude foreign YouTube users.

Does YouTube advertising bring direct sales?

Depends on format and goal. Brand awareness campaigns (TrueView in-stream, Bumper) do not typically bring direct sales immediately — they create memories that later convert through Search, Display, remarketing or organic. Discovery, In-feed and Performance Max formats bring more direct sales, especially for e-commerce, because the user actively clicks the video.

Do you run A/B tests for videos?

Yes. We test different video versions — different headline, different first 5 seconds (the most important seconds on YouTube), different CTA, shorter vs longer. We also test different audiences and targeting strategies. Minimum one active experiment per week to find the best combination for your campaign.
